Oh the plans we've made for when Elizabeth is away on her mission trip... Oh the places we'll go!
We actually saw Elizabeth off this morning. It was a ragged morning, rushed and hurried, and very early. And our frazzled daughter would call down things like, "Where's my coat!?!?" to us. Or "Why didn't you wake me sooner?" Yes, it's been a most eventful morning.
But she got off. She and 12 other students along with 5 adults all made it out of the church parking lot this morning. I don't know how far they got after that because Rick and I had big plans of our own and we needed to get underway.
So off they went... and off we went. They all drove in one direction, Rick and I in another... to the nearest coffee shop for a quiet little intimate breakfast, sans child.
We got about two blocks away when we decided that we would skip breakfast and just head home. There might be better things to do there...
And there were. Rick is playing with the dog and I'm about to head to the bedroom to go back to bed.
Yes, being an empty nester is fun. I hope I can stay awake long enough to enjoy it all.
