despite the head banging I took yesterday.
Man are MRIs LOUD! It was a combination of a washing machine, jack hammer and riveter's drill all going off at once. If I hadn't known better, I'd have sworn I was out on a construction site watching the birth of a brand new building. While the clothes were getting cleaned.
But I survived.
And the results? I do not have a herniated disk. I have SIX herniated disks instead. Aggravated by arthritis in my spine.
What the heck???? I'm never going to have another MRI again if they're going to give me news like that. I want different news, okay?
Last year I went to the doctor with a hurting hip and came out with arthritis in my knee. That makes about as much sense as going in for a herniated disk and coming out with a life altering disease. The doctor today said, "I have good news and bad news. The good news is that you don't need surgery."
THAT was the good news? I hadn't even considered the possibility of surgery. So yeah, that's good news, I guess. The bad news is that I start PT immediately and won't begin to see some relief for two to three weeks. That, coupled with the arthritis news, just made my day.
I think my dream of being a furniture mover with "Starving Students" is over.
