... we're just sittin' here watchin' TV tonight, 'cuz we can't think of anything better to do.
There's no food in our pantry. No dishes in our cabinets and no pots and pans under our stove. There's no clothes in our closets, no pictures on our walls and no clocks in sight anywhere.
We don't know what time it is... heck, we don't even hardly know what day it is. But the TV still works. So here we sit, just waiting to move.
Time is standing still.
We are all set to close on the house we currently live in at 10:00 Friday morning. We will then transfer the funds from the sale of our current house to the house we are buying... and meet again to close on THAT house at 2:00 Friday afternoon.
We will be homeless for four hours.
But four hours will seem like four minutes... four hours of being homeless will be easy to bear.... because I've just learned that we can not get into our new house.... UNTIL MONDAY!
We will be homeless for THREE DAYS!!!!!!
So, see? Four hours of being homeless? Nothing compared to having NOWHERE to go for the entire weekend!!
If you happen to be in the vicinity of Frisco, Texas... on Plantation Lane... on say, Saturday or Sunday... and you see three sad people sitting on the curb... surrounded by box after box after box after box...
... please wave and smile. And maybe toss us a crust of bread. Or a graham cracker. With peanut butter on it.
We would be most appreciative.
