It rained today. Oh, how it rained...
You know, today was one of those days where I could tell you it poured... AND MEAN IT! I don't think I've ever seen this much rain at one time... in one day... heck, in one lifetime.
And on top of all the rain, we began to get tornado reports, too. And yes, several did touch down. In Dallas. Near us, but not quite near enough. And since they touched down in the daytime (for a change, since they seem to prefer touching down at 2 AM normally) I never did get scared. Nope. Not this time.
Didn't even feel the need to hide in our storm cellar... also known as our coat closet. Mostly because that's what it is. Just a little closet. I don't know why we all head there. I guess in case it gets cold during the tornado... we'll have our choice of coats to wear.
Our pantry is big now (photos tomorrow, by the way) so I told Rick that we could all hide in there... and if a tornado hits, we'd have plenty to eat!! Rick reminded me that falling cans on our heads wouldn't feel so good, though.
He's probably right.
We remained under tornado watch for a few hours. In fact, I think we're still under it. And since it's dark out now, I'll probably start getting scared here in a bit. Even though there's no tornado in sight.
During the tornado scare though, Elizabeth's phone got scared. It suddenly started "paging" everyone it knew. And it knows a lot of people. A LOT!
My sister in law called us around 9:30 pm and asked if everything was alright. Cuz she had gotten a page, her husband had gotten a page and then their son did, too. Liz ran to get her phone only to learn that EVERYONE she knew had gotten a page... in alphabetical order... because her phone is smart like that.
I never did get a page.
Her phone doesn't like me.
I don't like it, either. And I will remind it of that every chance I get.
If it'll take my call.
