So, I'm feeling the need to blog tonight. I stayed away, what? A whole two days? Yeesh.
And not a word got written in my book. Oh wait, that's not entirely true. I gave myself a guilt trip this afternoon and wrote down three sentences. THREE WHOLE SENTENCES! And then I got writer's block.
But I'm actually here to share something with y'all. Yes, I said, "Y'all." I like that word now. Although it'll always be forced and unnatural to me.
Back on track.... I am going out of town again. Not by choice. By necessity. Rick is going out of town and so that we don't lose him... I've agreed to accompany him.
Where are we going? to Capitol Hill... to visit Congress.
Yes, you read that right.
We are going to present Rick's story to Congress and beg them for money to fund Lupus research, raise awareness, etc., etc. This is so out of my comfort zone, I can't even begin to tell you. And Rick is going to be presenting that 1st book written about him... to Congress... to later be presented to President Obama.
Here's the dates: Feb. 26th - March 2nd. Saturday through Wednesday.
Here's what we're doing:
Here's the itinerary:
And here's what it all means:
Here's how I learned about it all:

Your story is powerful! If you are willing to share your story with Members of Congress it can go a long way in demonstrating the need for more research funding, the need for more public awareness, and/or the need for greater physician awareness. Please share your story to members of Congress and help us gain the funding and support that we need!
And that's my plan. Yes, even I'm shocked. Not sure I want to go... but hey, there's a free lunch. So, count me in!
:)
