Just got a call from the publisher. The photo I selected for the cover can't be used. It showed a brand name in it. And I can't just cover it up... because it's a very identifiable object. Er... thing. I mean, item. Yes, I'm still trying my best to not give away the title and the cover. Not for secrecy's sake but still because I don't love it. The title nor the cover.
So, I select another photo. One that was similar and was recommended by the publishing company. I liked it even more than my original photo.
And I got another call. To use THAT photo would cost me $6000.
Seriously? I mean, SERIOUSLY? Get serious.
So... the cover has gone back to the drawing board.
Wish I could draw. It would be so much easier to just draw... at that drawing board.
Although that would probably cost me $12,000.
