The 25th came and went. Quickly this year, too. And as Christmas Eve approached , I found myself feeling quite wistful. I love, love, love this time of year. It is the most wonderful time of the year, you know; the song says so..
Even though I love the lead-up to the actual holiday, and I hate the quickness and then poof, it's over ... I still love Christmas and I always will. Elizabeth has been with us for four days, I had everything up and ready early and I have two weeks off. It was all perfect. Yes, still a bit melancholy, but still wonderful.
I had to work at our church on Christmas Eve, but it was fine. People are just so nice there, especially then. Especially this time of the year. And we usually spend Christmas Eve with some of my cousins, but this year I had even begged off from that. We had a quiet Christmas Eve and I loved it.
We had a traditional Christmas morning and with Elizabeth here, it was just as nice. Quiet and nice. Quite gift heavy, too. I went a little overboard ... but I think it was appreciated.
Dinner with Rick's sister and her family also made the holiday perfect.
So that's a Kahle recap. Nothing big, nothing fancy, everything wonderful.
Kinda like the actual Christmas story.
Nothing big, nothing fancy, everything wonderful.
